No equal rights for US women

Although there were many victories for women in the 1950's and 60's United States women have not been able to win many battles since then, including maternity leave and child care. Many countries in Europe and around the world have surpassed the United States when it comes to equality.

Associate Editor at TPM, Megan Carpentier believes the difference is part of the US philosophy as a capitalist society which is why women cannot achieve the same rights as men, like they can in other societies worldwide.
